I graduated from the Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) in 2005 and started college at UW-Stevens Point the following fall. I eventually decided to pursue majors in both physics and geology.
During my college experience, I had the privilege of traveling to many interesting and educational destinations. I participated in an astronomy internship in Valdosta, Georgia, during which I had the opportunity to visit Kitt Peak, Arizona; I spent four nights observing asteroids and three days exploring the desert. I traveled to the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico for an undergraduate workshop in support of the radio astronomy research that I participated in. I also went on a geology field trip to the Southwest United States, where I visited several National Parks and other locations of geologic interest.
I also enjoyed many practical experiences at UWSP. I worked at the planetarium and observatory, performed research in astronomy, physics, and geology, and tutored both for the Department of Physics & Astronomy and for the Tutoring Learning Center. My tutoring experiences helped me to realize that I would enjoy a career in teaching, and I decided to teach at the high school level.
I student taught at SPASH during the fall semester of 2013, and began teaching full-time at SPASH during the 2014-2015 academic year. I am very happy to be teaching at SPASH!
